A new beginning!

After reading the article "Don't build your castle in other people's kingdom", I remembered I used to want bigger things for this website. After thinking about it, it actually makes a lot of sense what the article says. So I decided I'd focus more on my website than on my social media, like I've been doing for years. That's why I'm opening a blog and a forum here, at gocagames.com.

An introduction first

My name is Guillem Gómez Cartes, and I'm a solo game developer from Barcelona. I have a degree in Video Game Design and Production studied at Tecnocampus. I'm currently a high school teacher, and I create my games in my free time.

Goca Games started as a personal project back in 2018 with the goal of releasing a game every year. Initially, the games were supposed to be released every April 4th (my birthday), but some of them were released later. I develop all kinds of games because I don't like to get stuck in one genre. Additionally, I enjoy experimenting with different art styles for each of my projects. Currently, I have 5 games: BLiiNK Staring Contest, Hei, Jellyfishers, Colleggting, and TacTac Prologue. My biggest achievement is having 2 of them available on Nintendo Switch.

About what's coming

As I mentioned earlier, I'll be building my castle here, starting by creating some blogs. While I might not consider myself the best writer, I do believe I have some interesting things to share at times. I'll be going through my posts from the last few years on Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, etc., and transform them into entries here.

In addition to the blogs, I've always been a forums guy, so why not have my own forum? It will allow me to post guides or tricks for my games whenever I want. Moreover, if anyone faces any issues or has suggestions, they can easily leave a comment there. I know Steam has forums for each game, but not all my games are available there. Additionally, I have other versions, like the ones on the Nintendo Switch, where people can't seek help except through my email.

I don't expect this website to become the biggest page ever, but I'll be happy if I receive comments from time to time. It may also help increase the visibility of my games.
