Little Reviews - December 2022

I've been doing quick reviews of all the media I consume for a while now, so I'll be doing a monthly wrap-up and posting it here. The oldest one I found is from December 2022, so I'll start from there to have them all here together.

These are subjective opinions; I'm not trying to write a professional review. I'm just sharing my perspective and the experience I had with each of them.

🎮 Video Games

Time on Frog Island 🐸

Platform: Nintendo Switch / Score: ★★★★★★☆☆☆☆

I liked it, but it's maybe too simple, sometimes felt like just going from point A to B. It doesn't have lots of mechanics, but it's chill and relaxing. Loved the art, it's adorable.

Picross S2 🟦

Platform: Nintendo Switch / Score: ★★★★★★☆☆☆☆

I played the Picross Zelda version on the 3DS a few years ago, and I loved it. Always liked sudokus, and this is kinda similar. Maybe I miss the Zelda pixel art or some other theme, but still enjoyed it.

Yoshi's Crafted World 🌞

Platform: Nintendo Switch / Score: ★★★★★★★☆☆☆

I had this game downloaded for years and finally gave it a try. The art is so cute and original, loved all the crafted things. The mechanics are fine, it's a fun game, but it gets repetitive. Also, the difficulty feels always the same (easy). You can complete it 100% for the extra challenge, but it's more tedious than difficult.

Loved Dark - same directors - and this one has the same vibes, so it's pretty cool. Interesting characters and mysterious story, perfect. I really like the Lost treatment with every episode kinda focusing on a specific character. The plot gets kinda messy, though.

So chaotic and gave me anxiety with that music at some points lol. But it's great, I loved it actually. The cast is great, and it's really well made and fun.

Even better than the first season for me. I liked these characters more. Also loved Sicily, kinda want to visit now.

Alice in Borderland 🃏

Season: 2 / Platform: Netflix / Score: ★★★★★★★★★☆

Great show, and this second season has the first season level of quality. Loved the games and new characters. The ending may not be my favorite, but it makes everything have some sense and also adds some doubts to the viewer.

Élite 🥃

Season: 6 / Platform: Netflix / Score: ★★★★★☆☆☆☆☆

It's getting worse and worse, but I knew that before starting this season, and I'm fine with that lmao. I just found it weird that they just made my favorite characters (Cayetana and Rebecca) disappear and said nothing about them. The plot was messy as always, and so few interesting things happened, probably the most intriguing is the cliffhanger at the end. Isadora was the only thing that kept me watching; she carried the season.

Thought it would be really bad, but I loved it. Felt represented by some characters and loving that the Catalan culture is so present. Fun fact: I was called to be a background actor on this, but I couldn't go.

Rick and Morty ☀️

Seaason: 6 / Platform: HBO Max / Score: ★★★★★★★☆☆☆

I was missing 3 episodes from this last season, and I finally watched it. It was a good season, better than season 5 for me. Not the same as it was at the beginning, but still being fun and original.

🎌 ANIME

Mob Psycho 100 💐

Season: 3 / Score: ★★★★★★★★★☆

This anime is so wholesome; I'll miss Mob so much, but it's time to let him go. This was the perfect ending for an amazing show.

Bleach 🗡️

Season: 17 / Score: ★★★★★★★★★☆

Bleach came back with an insane season; it is so good. The animation quality is amazing, and I love that the story got dark and connected everything so well. Can't wait for the next season.

Chainsaw Man 🪚

Season: 1 / Score: ★★★★★★★★★☆

I was hyped for the Chainsaw Man anime because a friend read the manga and told me it was her favorite. Aaaaand I'm not disappointed at all; it is great and with amazing characters. Outstanding animation and promising story, can't wait for more! 12 episodes felt not enough.

Spy X Family 👨‍👩‍👧

Season: 1 / Score: ★★★★★★★☆☆☆

I liked it, but after a few episodes, I got a little bit bored of it and did a break till now. I love the family trio, and they are perfect, but the story could be more interesting sometimes. The animation is amazing, though!

Cinco Lobitos 🐺

Spanish movie with great actors; they make it so real. May be the saddest movie I've watched in years.

Avatar: The Way of Water 🐳

Score: ★★★★★★☆☆☆☆

Some scenes are beautiful, but in general, the plot is kinda boring, and the movie could be 1h 30m long instead of 3h. I get it, awesome CGI, but that alone is not enough.

Glass Onion 🧅

Platform: Netflix / Score: ★★★★★★★★★★

Finally watched Glass Onion, and what a masterpiece. I love Janelle Monáe music, but I didn't know if she'd do well as an actress. Well, she absolutely killed it. 10/10 for me, I enjoyed every minute.
